Bangle Bracelet Parts

Silver plated. Overall – bracelet is 2.6″ wide, and 2.25″ high.  If you measure around the whole bracelet it is 8″, with 6 1/2 inches of beadable space.  The bead “stoppers” shown are moveable and optional in your design, (they are included with every order).   The bracelet can be pulled open more, and it can be squeezed a little smaller, whichever is needed.

Put the bracelet on sideways. The opening between the two end balls is 1 1/8″ wide. It can be easily and permanently pulled open to about 1 7/8″. Since you put it on by starting sideways, measuring the wrist’s thickness is another indicator as to whether it will fit.

My wrist is 6″. Personally, I have about 1/2″ at the top (inside) of the arc, between my wrist and the inside of the bangle, put beads.   A bead with an outside diameter of  about 7/8″, with a hole in the middle of it, could be used, for my wrist.  That is, if the hole is large enough to go around the curve of the bracelet.   Of course, as you move towards the edge, to about the middle of the left and right edges of the circumference, this gradually goes down to 1/8″ (inside) of space.

If it helps, I (6″ wrist) can put the bracelet on with no beads, and run it up my arm just beyond half way to my elbow before it is tight.

When making or purchasing beads for this item, the length of the bead is as important as the hole size.  The beads must go around the ‘curve’ in the bracelet.  So, yes, a bead with a 3/32″ hole would go on the beginning of the bracelet, but the bead would have to be only slightly larger than it’s hole.  Beads of that size can be made or found.  Beads with a hole of at least 1/8″ (or 4mm), and a length of not over about 5/8″ long, are better.  Beads with larger holes, around 6mm large, can be up to 3/4″ in length.  (The length restriction does not apply  to things like tubular peyote, RAW, Spirals, etc., that are very flexible around curved areas.) These can be lampwork beads, beadwoven bead (done with seed beads), metallicized, polymer, PMC, resin, or other beads.  The two ‘Stop’ beads at the bottom screw on.  The two silver beads on the bangle have a heavy clear rubber inside, and ‘keep’ your beads from moving.  Shown actual size, at Left.Pic shows tubular peyote beadweaving of  Seed Beads, Size 6/0’s, and 11/0 Triangles.

You need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 6.0 or higher version to view and/or print out any available graphs/patterns which are in *.pdf format (stands for Portable Data File).  IT IS FREE!   Click here to get it straight from Adobe http://www.adobe.com    Most of the manufactured large hole beads are acrylic, metalicized acrylic, or wood.  Most come from The Beadery, (thebeadery.com) a company that sells through craft retailers such as Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnns, Wal-Mart, and other stores.  Their beads are also sold on internet sites.  You can look at their site for bead names and numbers, then look for a source on the internet.  Darice  (darice.com) also distributes comparable beads through retailers and internet sites.  Many acrylic, metalicized acrylic, and wood beads do not have a big enough hole.  Be sure to take something with you to measure.  If you are adventurous, you can drill a larger hole in the acrylic beads, but it’s not fun.  Some of the glass beads at craft retailers will fit. You can make clay, glass, and beads from other media yourself.  Wood forms, such as the spools shown below, ovals, rounds, etc., can be purchased at craft stores, and on the internet.  These can be covered with beads.
